Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to our beautiful mother, Bernadette Eileen Currie, age 99 on Monday, April 1, 2019 at the CBRH, Sydney. We were so blessed to have had all these precious years with our mother.

Born, December 27, 1919, she was the youngest daughter of the late Pierce and Maryanne (Wadden) Corbett. Bernadette was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

It is with gratitude that we thank and celebrate Mom for the wonderful life she led and the unconditional love and support she always showed her family and friends.

She loved her church, Immaculate Conception and was a member of the CWL for over 60 years. Bernadette was a dedicated choir member for many years. She married the love of her life, the late Melvin Currie and together they raised 13 children.

Bernadette is survived by daughters, Arlene McIntyre, Maryanne Levine (Harry), Stephanie MacDonald (Bill), Doreen MacSween (Jim), Anita Bell (David), Beverly (Cecil), sons, Melvin (Kathy), Angus (Yvonne), John, Sheldon (Kay), son in law, Jim Reid, daughter in law, Linda Currie, very special nephew, Nicholas “Nick” Corbett, 27 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
