Dear Gillis Family,
Anna Mae was a force, with her storytelling, her memory, sense of humor and how down to earth she was. I will miss the long chats I had with her once and a while on the phone, hearing her laugh and telling old stories about dad (Red). I'll never forget those days we had as kids out in Mira at the legendary bungalow and just how fun it was getting together with the Gillis family. She will be sorely missed. Please accept our deepest condolences. Roy & Lily MacKinnon

To her whole family
I smile when I think of your Annie Mae. Her family was raised next door to mine. Although 20 years older than me, she always treated me like her equal with her gorgeous eyes and smile making me feel listened to.
She and your Dad, Angus, another doll, made a handsome couple. You were all so blessed to have her in your lives. Know that many of us out here, remember her and are thankful we knew her.

Anna Mae was always so welcoming and made each person feel absolutely special. Her love oozed from her! Her love for my father, her brother, Red, was the epitome of sisterly love.
I remember the best part of our two weeks summer visit was going with Anna Mae and Angus to the river and the log cabin. She helped me make strawberry jam for the first time!
Recently, ALL her posts on Facebook made my husband and I just laugh…and talk about how we love her humor!
She will be forever missed, and never forgotten!

Lawrence, I'm sorry for your loss. I remember the days when you were laid up with the broken leg and the boys from the neighborhood would gather on a regular basis at your house to play cards. Your mother treated us like kings. She was a very nice lady.
