Obituary of Gerard Joseph Muise: New Waterford,Reserve Mines
It is with great sadness and shattered hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear partner, brother and friend, Gerard Muise on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with his loved ones by his side.
Born in New Waterford on July 15, 1965, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Patricia (Boudreau) Muise and the youngest of their small, close-knit family.
Gerard was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan and enjoyed watching a game with his little buddy Molly by his side. He also loved to fiddle around and play a tune or two on one of his guitars.
Gerard graduated from Breton Education Centre in 1984 and in the late 90's moved away, where he worked for Calgary Transit until he retired and moved back to Cape Breton.
Gerard is survived by his loving partner, Lisa Gilmet and her son, Brandon of Reserve Mines; brother, Robert Muise (Sheri) of New Waterford; sister, Wilfredine Muise of New Waterford and his best buddy, fur baby, Molly along with many cousins and friends.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30 from 11 a.m until the time of the service at 1 p.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Father Godwin Obike officiating. A reception will follow at the K.O.C., New Waterford. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
We would like to thank the Paramedics (EHS) that attended to Gerard as well as the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
